Dr. Chang was born in Hong Kong and settled in the Bay Area when she was
fourteen years old. She graduated with honors from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. Dr. Chang is a graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine, where she spent a fifth year under the Medical Scholars
Program with scholarly interests in melanoma immunity and molecular
cardiology. She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the UCLA-affiliated, combined Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/Veterans Affair
West Los Angeles (West LA VA) Medical Center Program.  She remained at
Cedars-Sinai/West LA VA and completed her nephrology fellowship in 2013.

Dr. Chang is board certified in internal medicine, palliative medicine, and
nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  Her personal interests include playing badminton, snorkeling, traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband, Brian, her family, and friends. She is native in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Shanghainese Chinese.

Dr. Chen was born in Taiwan and raised in the United States, coming to the U.S. during junior high school. She is interested in both acute and chronic kidney disease. She has a special interest in the use of dietary modification for prevention of kidney disease, especially related to diabetes and hypertension. Since coming to Oakland, she has worked hard with community outreach programs targeting Asian and Southeast Asian communities to bring awareness about both early detection and modification of kidney diseases.
