Dr. Ahn first came to the Bay Area in 1987 when she moved from Chicago to Berkeley to attend UC Berkeley. After receiving her undergraduate degree, she returned to Illinois to complete medical school. She moved back to Oakland in order to attend Internal Medicine residency at Kaiser Oakland and went on to a nephrology fellowship at UC Davis. She began private nephrology practice in Fremont in 2001, and joined Chabot Nephrology in 2010.

Dr. Ahn enjoys the diversity in her practice, including acute hospital care,
management of dialysis patients, chronic kidney disease, and glomerular
diseases. She is an active hospital staff member, serving on multiple hospital committees at Washington Hospital. She also enjoys participating in community outreach events.

Dr. Chawla joined Chabot Nephrology after completing his nephrology training at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He was born and raised in New Delhi, India.  He sees patients with all types of kidney disease, as well as patients with kidney stones and difficult to treat hypertension. He is interested in a wide spectrum of nephrology-related issues including diabetic nephropathy, continuous renal replacement therapy, plasmapheresis, renal bone disease, and hypertension.

In his free time he enjoys traveling, hiking and spending time with his family.

Dr. Che was born and raised in China. After medical school, she earned her Ph.D. in Physiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where she published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and received several awards for excellent research. Her research background allows her to see patients in a unique way and gives her the skill to keep updated with current medicine. However, her passion for patients made her come back to clinical medicine. After finishing an internal medicine residency at Yale-Bridgeport Hospital, she completed her nephrology fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. In her practice, she emphasizes preventive measures for all kinds of kidney diseases. She strongly believes that patient education, patient awareness, and teamwork are the key to good medical care. Although comfortable with all aspects of nephrology, she has a special interest in glomerulonephritis, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease.

She is married and enjoys spending her free time with her family.

Dr. Lunny is a Bay Area native who, after receiving education and training in other parts of the country, returned to the Bay Area to care for patients with kidney disease, hypertension, and associated medical conditions. He utilizes a patient-focused approach to evaluate and manage his patients' conditions in order to achieve the shared goal of maximum quality of life. He uses nationally recognized practice guidelines of therapy to treat patients in the office and hospitals, as well as in the dialysis units where he treats patients who utilize all forms of dialysis.  Dr. Lunny is a hospital medical staff leader who works toward the goals of improving patient care and minimizing medical errors. He was named a "Top Doctor" by US News & World Report. He has been recognized by his peers who have elected him to be Chief of Staff at Washington Hospital.

In his free time Dr. Lunny enjoys spending time with his family, participating in outdoor and athletic activities, and organic gardening.

Dr. Wong, a Bay Area native, joined Chabot Nephrology after completing his nephrology fellowship at UC San Diego. He enjoys all aspects of general nephrology but has a special interest in acute kidney injury and renal replacement therapy.  Due to his interest in optimizing patient outcomes, he has served on numerous committees at St. Rose Hospital. He strives to provide high-quality, patient-oriented medicine based on the latest available research.
